Suspension of Trade between India and Pakistan will hit Pakistan More

Pakistan's decision to stop bilateral trade between India and Pakistan will hit the neighbouring country more as they import essential items more than they export to India, according to experts.

India's exports to Pakistan have already dropped significantly after the Pulwama terror attack resulted in the deaths of 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel and the attacker in February this year.

“The suspension of trade relations will hit Pakistan more badly as India is less dependent on Pakistan while the latter is more.”
Ajay Sahai, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) Director General

India's export basket for Pakistan has a very limited portfolio as Pakistan has not given 'most favoured nation' status to New Delhi and such goods have ready market in South Asia and the Middle East.
